Steak 48 Chicago announced the appointment of new General Manager, Joe Taylor, and Executive Chef, Mathew Smith, both accomplished local Chicago hospitality and culinary executives. With these hiring additions, Steak 48 is poised to continue to enhance Chicago’s famous Steakhouse dining scene by delivering luxury personal service and the best quality food creating the ultimate fine-dining experience.

With more than 20 years of culinary experience, Chef Smith is committed to sourcing and preparing the finest ingredients and serving the highest quality steak and seafood. Taylor has more than 40 years of experience working in Chicago’s hospitality industry and previously held positions at several well-known Chicago restaurants like Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse and Mastro’s Steakhouse. At Steak 48, he’ll oversee the day-to-day operations and lead the restaurant team of over 100 employees to provide the totality of the experience to their guests each and every night.
