Hai Hospitality announced today that they will be taking over the space next door to Uchi to open a yet-to-be-named, twelve-seat omakase tasting room at 904 Westheimer Suite C Houston, Texas.  The space will be designed by their Hai in-house team, Hai Design Studio, and the architect of record is Houston-based Tramonte Design Studio. The design concept is centered on conversation and connection, resembling an intimate dinner at an eat-in kitchen. The space will have its own entrance and will not have sushi cases on the counter to further encourage this connection.  Plans also include utilizing the courtyard, although the exact nature of the use of the space is yet to be determined.

“We have long been considering a tasting room space where we can experiment, collaborate and try new things,” says Hai CEO Tony Montero. “When the developer approached us saying they had this space coming available, we decided this could be the space to realize and build upon this early vision.”

While the nature of the food and beverage menus is still under development, the service model will allow for reservations with walk-ins taken on a limited basis. The opening is roughly slated for late 2022 or early 2023 as of now.
