INTRODUCING THE LANDING

Esteemed hospitality group DMK, helmed by restaurateur David Morton, of the Morton’s Steakhouse family, is debuting on Thursday, February 10, a first-of-its-kind dining experience inside the PENN District’s newly redeveloped PENN 1 on 34th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. As visitors ascend the building’s sweeping Social Stair onto the second level, guests will find The Landing, a full-service restaurant along with a luxurious lounge serving as the center of PENN 1 for dining, working, meeting, and socializing. In addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner at The Landing, James Beard nominated Executive Chef Brian Huston, along with Chef de Cuisine Jonathan Ho – formerly of the Restauration Hardware culinary team – will offer gourmet cuisine to building tenants and visitors alike.

“Working with David Morton and the DMK team to bring The Landing to life has been an incredible experience,” shares Jonathan Ho, Chef de Cuisine. “After working in some of the biggest and busiest spaces in New York, it is exciting to take on an even more ambitious restaurant project. Our goal is to offer crave-able dishes, that are lovingly prepared with ingredients from the finest local and regional farms and purveyors, while serving each guest with the warm hospitality that has become DMK’s signature style.”

A SOCIAL ESCAPE

With no detail spared, guests are first welcomed to The Landing by a Maître D, guiding diners to one of the many seating options in the 10,500 sq. ft. space. Prior to entering the main restaurant, guests journey through the plush-adorned Lounge, offering soft seating detailed with ebonized wood, aged brass accents, black marble and a custom 12 ft. long fireplace. Here, guests are welcome to enjoy artisanal coffee and tea by the pot, and cocktails during happy hour starting at 4 p.m. on Monday – Friday.

Upon walking through the doors of the restaurant space, guests will first encounter a fluted black marble and mirrored 12-seat bar, housed with signature cocktails, domestic and imported beers, along with a worldly wine list. The Landing emulates both comfort and sophistication, coalescing state-of-the-art architectural elements with DMK’s award-winning service and lively music. Nestled inside the 150-seat restaurant are two private dining spaces, each designed to host meetings, presentations, social gatherings and special occasions. Full of surprise and delight, one of the private dining spaces is housed behind a secret doorway hidden inside a bookcase, which leads guests to an intimate chamber where they can host the ultimate board meeting, gather with friends and colleagues, or enjoy an exceptional private dinner with loved ones.  Additionally, The Landing will provide catering to adjacent WorkLife Meetings by Industrious, the 20,000 sq. ft. meetings and conference space in PENN 1.
