Silver Diner is taking the lead in ensuring that its employees are vaccinated and offering a convenient way for its guests to get vaccinated. The restaurant is partnering with Kaiser, the company’s primary insurance carrier, and the Fairfax County Department of Health, and bringing a mobile van to Silver Diner locations throughout the Washington, D.C. region and Baltimore.  Kaiser has partnered with Silver Diner on health and wellness programs for the past 15 years. Now, they have a mobile health unit they’re bringing to various Silver Diner locations to administer Pfizer vaccinations against Covid-19, now approved by the FDA. Anyone interested in getting vaccinated, can just show up at any of the locations below from 3 to 4 p.m. 

Hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. at locations below:

  • Friday, September 17 – BWI Marriott Parking lot (1743 W. Nursery Rd., Linthicum, Md.)– Second dose same location on October 8.
  • Monday, September 20 – Waldorf Silver Diner Parking Lot  (3081 Festival Way, Waldorf, Md.)– Second dose same location Tuesday, October 12.
  • Friday, September 24 – Frederick Silver Diner Parking lot  (5120 Buckeystown Pike, Frederick, Md.)– Second dose same location October 15.
  • Monday, September 27 – Ashburn Silver Diner Parking lot (20530 Heron Overlook Plz., Ashburn, Va.) –Second dose same location Monday, October 18.

To date, Silver Diner has spent more than $1M on safety protocols. This past spring, the launched a robust vaccination program and designated a company “Vaccine Czar” to assist employees in navigating vaccination locations, online registrations, transportation and to answer any questions. The company also provided bi-lingual educational information on the vaccine.

Over a year ago, Silver Diner invested in hospital-grade air purification systems for all its locations. The customized system includes UV light and two-pronged air purification. In addition, Silver Diner created outdoor tented cafes, implemented plexiglass dividers, antimicrobial menus, and touchless pickup outside its restaurants.
