When Meg Bickford became Executive Chef of Commander’s Palace in October 2020 during the pandemic, two of the things she missed most were the camaraderie of the industry and dinner parties with friends. Now that we are finally able to do so, we are shooting for both and inviting friends over for a dinner series to benefit organizations near and dear to us. The Commander’s Family cannot wait to bring everyone together by hosting Chef Meg & Company: A Commander’s Palace Dinner Series Benefitting the New Orleans Culinary & Hospitality Institute (NOCHI).

Each Chef Meg & Company dinner will take place at Commander‘s Palace and includes a welcome cocktail, a collaborative five-course tasting menu with wine pairings, and a coupe de milieu cocktail. Collaborating, cooking, and having a grand time together again is what this dinner series is all about.

Proceeds from the dinner benefit NOCHI, a nonprofit at the forefront of culinary and hospitality co-founded by Commander’s co-proprietor Ti Adelaide Martin. NOCHI provides a platform for professional and personal growth, increasing access and minimizing barriers to career pathways while supporting the promotion and economic development of the culinary arts and hospitality industry. What better way to give back to the organizations we love most than through the things we love most.

Chef Meg & Company brings together five distinguished New Orleans chefs that are alums, friends, and respected colleagues of the Commander’s Family, including Serigne Mbaye, Melissa Martin, Michael Gulotta, Frank Brigtsen, and Edgar “Dooky” Chase IV.

In addition to bringing in top New Orleans culinary talent, the Chef Meg & Company dinner series will feature current students and alums from the Turning Tables organization. Turning Tables advocates for equity in the hospitality industry, providing rising Black and Brown hospitality professionals with bar education, hands-on training, mentorship, and social service resources.

Chef Meg can’t wait to celebrate and cook with this amazing roster of chefs and bartenders! The dinners will take place monthly, beginning on August 31. Tickets can be purchased here (www.exploretock.com/commanderspalace/)

The Dinner Series will take place monthly, including the following dates:
