Mridul Bhatt has been appointed Executive Chef at Rosewood Hotel Georgia, the luxury Forbes Five-Star hotel located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. In his new role, Bhatt will lead the property’s culinary teams at Reflections: The Garden Terrace, a local favorite for sophisticated al fresco dining and drinks and 1927 Lobby Lounge Bar, known for its retro cocktails and light fare. Bhatt will also oversee the menu development for high profile and specialty celebrations such as weddings and gala affairs.

Bhatt’s extensive culinary experience spans an 18-year career at some of the most desirable hotels in India, the U.S. and Canada, including his most recent role as the executive chef at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Edmonton. His passion for food and beverage combined with his worldly travels makes Bhatt an ideal match for Rosewood Hotel Georgia, whose purpose is to celebrate Vancouver’s diverse cultures and natural surroundings through immersive dining and hospitality experiences.

After graduating in 2003 from the Culinary School of Mangalore, India, Bhatt’s early career took him through Radisson, Marriott, and Four Seasons hotels in India before he eventually became a sous chef at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, California, working with Japanese, Cantonese and Italian cuisines. In 2011, he joined the culinary team at Fairmont Jaipur, India, and eventually was invited to judge Master Chef India. Following his stint in India, Bhatt moved to Vancouver, where he was an executive sous chef at Fairmont Hotel Waterfront, and eventually moved onto becoming the executive chef at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, Edmonton. Bringing years of culinary training and expertise from around the world with him, Bhatt officially joins the Rosewood Hotel Georgia team as Executive Chef.
