After expanding throughout the Southeast, Carolina’s own Wild Wing Cafe eatertainment chain is opening a home-grown location in Charlotte’s University City at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21.

“We want guests to be surprised with the new experiences this location has to offer,” says Steve Weigel, CEO of Wild Wing Cafe. “Our outdoor spaces are impressive, and people will enjoy live music both inside and out. We’ll also be serving the same welcoming, friendly hospitality found at our other locations.”

Several exciting new features await guests at the Charlotte University City location. Wing sauces specially designed for the University of North Carolina Charlotte community will be offered, as well as a pizza prepared on a crust made of chicken and special spices. Guests will still be able to savor the restaurant’s signature hot wings, cooked in a special process of frying, saucing and baking. Homemade wing sauces in more than 33 flavors complement the boldly flavored wings offered on the menu along with hand-cut nuggets, wraps, freshly baked pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and salads.

Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver and Axium Capital Partners co-owner Muhsin Muhammad says, “After bringing our brand of Southern hospitality and hot wings, cold beer and good times to many new markets during these challenging times, we’re thrilled to grow in this area to serve our University of North Carolina at Charlotte students as well as area residents. And to all Carolina Panthers fans: keep pounding!”

Local brews and new, memorable cocktails top the bar menu that was created in partnership with Phil Wills of “Bar Rescue” fame. The new bar menu offers a large selection of bottled beer and draft choices with one exclusive to Wild Wing Cafe: Wicked Chicken wheat ale, developed through a partnership with Wicked Weed Brewing in Asheville, North Carolina.

Wild Wing Cafe Charlotte University City will stay true to its eatertainment reputation with live music, taking great care to promote local artists. Each music lineup is unique at every Wild Wing restaurant, and this new location is no exception with the vibrant beat of live bands heard both inside and outside of the cafe. A large, expansive bar inside gives guests plenty of room to spread out and try one of the new cocktails. Team singalongs will break out from time to time, adding to the high-energy atmosphere. Sports fans will not be left out with plenty of televisions to watch their favorite games while sharing appetizers and a cold local brew.

Wild Wing Cafe Charlotte University City at 8760 J. M. Keynes Drive will be open daily from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. The team takes all safety precautions seriously including required masks, separation of tables and thoroughly cleaning the entire restaurant every 30 minutes
