Wild Wing Café will be opening its newest location in Charlotte’s University City (8760 J.M. Keynes Drive) this April.

Christina Rubio, managing partner for the Charlotte University location, along with her team of Southern hospitality experts look forward to delivering the Wild Wing experience to this community. “We are thrilled to bring 125 great jobs to this area of Charlotte. We have assembled a team of people dedicated to delivering memorable experiences each and every day.”

Behind the Wild Wing Cafe team is Carolina Panther legend, Mushin Muhammad. The former wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers and co-owner of Axum Capital Partners which owns and operates Wild Wing Café, says, “Even during these tough economic times our teams have been able to grow our brand in this redeveloping area of Charlotte. University of North Carolina at Charlotte students, area residents, people working in the community and Panthers fans can look forward to our special brand of Southern hospitality along with our signature hot wings, cold beer and good times; and to all my fellow Carolina Panther fans, ‘Keep Pounding!’ We are all in this together.”

Guests can look forward to Wild Wing’s signature dish of fresh, never frozen chicken wings prepared with a signature cooking process of frying, saucing, and baking that give the wings a bold flavor. With more than 33 made-from-scratch sauces and dressings prepared daily.   Beyond wings, the restaurant menu has extensive shareable appetizers, fresh baked pizzas, entrees, and an array of fresh burgers, wraps, sandwiches and bountiful salads.

“This restaurant will be a showcase for all of our brand’s exciting new features,” says Steve Weigel, CEO of Wild Wing Cafe. “We are bringing the best of everything we have to University City, including a special menu of Southern favorites, special wing sauces just for this community, a pizza prepared on a crust made of chicken and spices, and of course, our fresh, never frozen wings and hand cut nuggets that our fans know and love.”

The eatertainment restaurant is a special place with everything from local live music, team singalongs to “Sweet Caroline,” and high energy at every turn.  “We have fantastic outdoor spaces and tons of parking. We want people to enjoy the Wild Wing experience indoors and out,” says Weigel.  “We can’t wait for you to come in and be surprised with the new experiences this location has to offer.”

The restaurant’s interior boasts a huge bar with an expansive area to relax and listen to live music by local musical talent, and the new eatery will showcase live bands each week both inside and outside.

A new bar menu, created in partnership with Phil Wills of Bar Rescue fame, includes memorable cocktails, interactive drinks, and a dizzying array of local draft and bottled beer choices, including Wild Wing Cafe’s exclusive Wicked Chicken Wheat Ale, developed through a partnership with Wicked Weed Brewing out of Asheville, NC.

The restaurant will open for dine-in, takeout and delivery. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed through the Wild Wing Cafe mobile app or website. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for local music schedules, food and drink specials and other news.

Baring restrictions, Wild Wing Cafe in University City will be open from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. COVID-19 health and safety procedures will be strictly enforced including daily staff temperature checks, required masks and readily available hand sanitizer. The restaurant will employ several other preventative measures including the separation of tables, thorough cleaning of every space after use and cleaning the entire restaurant every 30 minutes with world class chemicals.
