Ruby Red’s BBQ, a new Texas-style barbeque restaurant, will be coming to Los Angeles in 2021. Owned by Steve Williamson of Ruby Red’s, Majestic Retail Group and Williamson General Contracting, this new restaurant will bring some Texas flavor to the City of Angels. Oculus Inc., a full-service architecture and interior design firm based in St. Louis, is designing the fast-casual restaurant that has a high-end feel.

“We were thrilled when Steve chose Oculus to design his first restaurant,” says Brian Kern, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB, principal and retail director at Oculus Inc. “We have a longstanding relationship with Williamson General Contracting, and we could not be more excited about bringing Steve’s restaurant vision to life.”

Ruby Red’s BBQ is a concept that owner Steve Williamson has been working on for 30 years. The goal of the restaurant is for customers to feel like they are coming home when they visit, and that the restaurant is part of the community.  The restaurant will offer unique incentives for Ruby Red’s BBQ’s future customers. Interactive giving back programs will allow guests to become ambassadors to the restaurant and the community through the “Take My Seat” program, the “Cover Those in Need” homemade blanket program, the “Handmade Toys” first responders program and the “Hats off to You” program. Fundraising, community smoke-offs and direct shelter feeding efforts will also be performed at Ruby Red’s. Restaurant ambassadors will be recognized with everlasting discounts on all food purchases and merchandise.

The restaurant will also have a philanthropic arm that will support a local battered women’s shelter and food bank with monetary and regular food donations allowing customers to be a part of the restaurant’s community efforts.

“For the last 30 years, I’ve been catering BBQ events and always had plans to open Ruby Red’s someday, and that time is now,” adds Steve Williamson, president of Ruby Red’s, Majestic Retail Group and Williamson General Contracting. “Texas barbeque is some of the best food in the country, and I wanted to bring that to Los Angeles. Dining at Ruby Red’s will be an experience that the entire family will enjoy, while we also give back to the community.”

The restaurant, which will be located at 1841-B West Imperial Highway in La Habra, California, is expected to open in spring 2021 with plans for additional locations throughout California by the end of next year.

Williamson owns and operates over a dozen restaurant chain locations, including Robeks Juice, Signature Sandwich Shop, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon.
