Grimaldi’s Pizzeria announced a total donation of $110,000 to No Kid Hungry through its fundraising initiatives in 2020. Since the partnership began in 2013, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria has raised more than $1 million to fight childhood hunger nationwide. A portion of the $110,000 donation comes thanks to a “Gratitude Fund” contribution from PepsiCo Frito-Lay, with which Grimaldi’s collaborated earlier this year on the launch of a specialty New York style pizza flavored potato chip as part of the “Flavor Icons” product series.

This September, Grimaldi’s gifted customers with bounce back cards to match donations to No Kid Hungry in increments of $5, up to a total of $25 per visit. At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in significant, long-lasting impacts on the restaurant industry and a dramatic increase in the number of children living with hunger, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is grateful to patrons at its 40-plus nationwide locations for their support of this cause in a particularly challenging year. For each dollar raised, No Kid Hungry can provide up to 10 meals to hungry children across the U.S.

“Despite the challenges we’ve faced as a nation, within the restaurant industry, and at a personal level this year, I am so proud to see the way our communities have come together to continue supporting No Kid Hungry’s efforts to end childhood hunger,” says Eric Greenwald, president of Grimaldi’s Pizzeria. “We are grateful for the opportunity to continue building a strong relationship between Grimaldi’s and No Kid Hungry as we look forward to our ninth year of partnership.”
