Lazy Betty, the modern and inventive restaurant from Chef Partners Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips in Atlanta, has reopened their Chef’s Counter and is now serving new fall tasting menus. The Le Bernardin alums offer bright and well-executed dishes featuring modern culinary techniques, intentionality and finesse, and menus include a 10-course option at the Chef’s Counter overlooking the kitchen as well as a seven-course menu and newly added four-course menu available in the dining room and patio. A vegetarian menu is available upon request.

Standouts on the new menus include Truffled Egg “Nest” with Serrano ham and parmesan froth; Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras with pecan toast and apple-squash marmalade; Rare Diver Scallop with crusted salsify and buttermilk-sake veloute; and Ravioli Doppio with roasted fall squash, caramelized sunchoke, sage brown butter and cranberry. The pastry team offers guests Chocolate Mousse with orange coulis, sesame tuile and soy caramel ice cream, and Pear Panna Cotta with Point Reyes blue cheese gel, brown butter soil and honey air. Plus, each guest enjoying the seven- and ten-course menus finish their meal with petit fours, and all guests take home a bag of the restaurant’s housemade Bourbon-Pecan Popcorn.

On the beverage side, Beverage Director Carl Van Tyle Gilbert serves classic cocktails alongside specialty cocktails. Duck Off features duck fat Rabbit Hole Bourbon, oleo, walnut bitters and port, and is presented tableside with a rosemary-scented smoke bubble that guests pop to reveal a cranberry ice cube. Another highlight is Busy Betty, made with Monkey 47 gin, celery, elderflower, lime and truffle.

Lazy Betty has received great acclaim since opening in March 2019. Most recently, Lazy Betty was named a 2020 James Beard Award semifinalist for “Best New Restaurant.” The restaurant was awarded three-star reviews from both The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta Magazine, and it was also named “Best New Restaurant” by Atlanta Magazine and “Restaurant of the Year” by Eater Atlanta.
