Franke Foodservice Systems, a leading provider of comprehensive foodservice systems and services, announced that Dennis Appel has been named president of its Americas business unit, effective immediately. He will report directly to Christian Mathesis, CEO of the global Foodservice Systems Division of Franke Group.
Appel will work to expand the reach of Franke‘s facility-related equipment, supplies and service portfolio into the quick-service restaurant and convenience store segments. He will directly oversee the firm’s operations as a manufacturer, distributor and program management partner to some of the world’s largest chains.
Most recently, Appel served as V.P.-Commercial and Industrial Solutions at Modine Manufacturing in Racine, Wisconsin, a century-old provider of sophisticated heat transfer technologies. There, he oversaw multiple business units and manufacturing locations in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Previously, he was president of a division of Luvata, a London-based metals and manufacturing group. Appel studied Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University and obtained his MBA from Purdue University.
