Turtle Bay Resort announced the appointment of Chris Hrybiniak as executive chef. Hrybiniak will lead the full culinary team for the main hotel’s five restaurants and bars, in-room dining and special events and conference services.

Hrybiniak brings more than 30 years of experience to Turtle Bay Resort. Armed with a culinary degree from the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon, Hrybiniak honed his culinary skills in Las Vegas, Nevada at top-notch restaurants such as Spago by Wolfgang Puck, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa. While a member of the SLS team in Las Vegas, Hrybiniak was appointed chef of the pre-opening team for the SLS Lux Baha Mar in the Bahamas. It was there that Hrybiniak discovered his love for island life. He spent the next six years in the Caribbean including as executive chef at the Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and most recently, executive chef at Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort in Curacao.

“Chef Hrybiniak understands the unique benefits and challenges of the island lifestyle, and the importance of working with the local community to showcase the freshest ingredients and cultural influences,” says Jerry Gibson, vice president of Turtle Bay Resort. “There is a new energy in the kitchen, and we are excited to see and taste the creative twists he will add to our culinary offerings and menus.”
