True Food Kitchen announced its second Illinois location in western Chicago suburb Oak Brook. The 32nd restaurant for the health-driven restaurant brand will open its doors at Oakbrook Center on Wednesday, November 20.

Founded by integrative medicine expert Dr. Andrew Weil, True Food Kitchen’s thoughtfully crafted, seasonal menu is rooted in the principles of the anti-inflammatory food pyramid – emphasizing wholesome, simple ingredients with thoughtful preparations to highlight the natural health benefits and flavors of each ingredient. From nutrient-dense staples and responsibly sourced proteins to little-known superfoods, True Food Kitchen is committed to sourcing the most creative and freshest in-season ingredients.

True Food Kitchen’s Chicago restaurant, which opened in 2016 in the downtown River North neighborhood, was recognized on the city’s 2019 and 2020 Michelin Bib Gourmand lists – an accolade awarded to restaurants serving quality food for good value.

True Food Kitchen’s menu rotates seasonally to let guests experience produce at peak freshness and flavor. Some of True Food Kitchen’s signature dishes—which will be available at the Oak Brook location—include the Ancient Grains Bowl, Organic Tuscan Kale Salad, Inside Out Quinoa Burger, Spaghetti Squash Casserole, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake, a guilt-free dessert. True Food Kitchen recently launched its new fall menu with seasonal ingredients and new dishes including the Butternut Squash Pizza, Seasonal Ingredient Salad, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, the vegan Unbeetable Burger, and Thai Coconut Sea Bass, to name a few.

The restaurant’s lively scratch bar will feature freshly pressed juices, organic teas, and natural refreshers, such as the seasonal Sparkling Prickly Pear Tisane and favorites including the Hangover Rx and Kale Aid. A selection of beer, wine and handcrafted cocktails featuring organic and gluten-free spirits are also available. True Food Kitchen’s Oak Brook restaurant will welcome guests to a nearly 9,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor space. The bright, airy interior will showcase an energetic dining room and open kitchen designed to bring guests closer to the culinary craft that goes into each dish. The covered patio will allow guests to enjoy warm weather days dining amongst outdoor and indoor basins of fresh herbs and spices used on the menu. Throughout the restaurant, eco-friendly materials are utilized in the space’s design, including hardwood floors and dining chairs made from recycled plastic. Vibrant, locally inspired artwork will adorn the walls, adding a contemporary touch to the interior’s earthy color scheme of natural woods and greenery.
