The second location of Butcher & Brew, the gastro sports bar from acclaimed Alpharetta-based Maven Restaurant Group, will open on Tuesday, October 15 at Halcyon in Forsyth County. The announcement follows on the heels of the opening of Tocayo, a fast-casual taco stand and Maven’s newest concept, which debuted at Halcyon last month. Both concepts are from Maven’s Founder Louis Soon, the restaurateur behind acclaimed spots South Main Kitchen, Butcher & Brew and Lapeer Seafood Market, and will be under the direction of Executive Chef Leo Garcia and Maven’s Culinary Director Andy Long.

The second location of Butcher & Brew will occupy a 3,000 square foot space at Halcyon, a newly opened mixed-use development located in Forsyth County. Butcher & Brew at Halcyon will serve the same beloved menu of made-from-scratch American pub fare as the original, including wings, bowls, soups, salads and artisan sandwiches. The concept’s signature extensive rotating selection of draft beer will feature 20 beers on tap. Guests can enjoy Butcher & Brew’s shareable plates and craft brews on the covered patio overlooking Halcyon’s “Village Green” greenspace or while catching the latest game on one of the restaurant’s 20 televisions.

Butcher & Brew’s original location in Alpharetta’s Historic Downtown District made its debut in 2016 and has become known for its distinctive, eclectic beer list curated by Cicerone Certified Beer Server and Bar Manager Ryan Stockmal, who is also behind the beverage list at both Butcher & Brew and Tocayo at Halcyon.

“At Butcher & Brew, we focus on the people – both those working here and those eating here. We look to create an environment where guests can have an upscale meal while cheering on their favorite sports team or connecting with friends over a craft beer,” says Soon. “Halcyon is the perfect home for our next location, and we’re excited to bring our high-energy concept to Forsyth County.”

Tocayo, Maven’s new fast-casual taco stand inspired by the street food of Mexico, opened last month at Halcyon. Alongside a selection of cold beer, the menu features chicken, steak, al pastor, fish and mushroom tacos as well as rice, beans, street corn and plantains. The taco stand’s aesthetic incorporates grained white wood, rattan lights and Butcher block countertops to reflect the relaxed vibe found in the streets of Tulum, Mexico. Guests can order from the counter to enjoy at communal seating throughout Halcyon, in the Village Green or stay awhile at one of the five bar stools that flank the front of the taco stand.
