On Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12, the teams are celebrating the five-year anniversary of Wicked Weed’s sour beer-dedicated Funkatorium, plus the release of six new Spontaneous beers, alongside notable guest chefs from Charleston, Asheville, and Atlanta.

What: Celebrate the five-year anniversary of Wicked Weed’s sour beer-dedicated Funkatorium with the release of six Spontaneous beers and live music from April B and The Cool. Chat with Wicked Weed teammates and taste all the new brews.

What: Continue the celebration with culinary tastings from Cultura Executive Chef Jacob Sessoms + guest chefs from Table, All Day Darling, 8Arm, Ink Bar, Octopus Bar, Husk Charleston, and more. Each bite will be accompanied by a Wicked Weed beer pairing. In addition, there will be Spontaneous fermentation talks & tastings from Wicked Weed teammates including Co-Founder Walt Dickinson, Head of Sour Production Andrew Zinn, and Lead Blender Jen Currier, as well as interactive experiences, all of which will help explain the importance and uniqueness of spontaneous brewing.

What: In addition to Cultura’s regular menu, the restaurant – located next door to the Funkatorium – will offer a one-night-only special pairing menu, featuring small plates by Executive Chef Jacob Sessoms and guest chefs from Rhubarb (CDC Derek Herre), Husk (EC Travis Grimes) + 8Arm (EC Maricela Vega). The menu (as a whole) will pair with a Wicked Weed Spontaneous flight poured tableside—order the entire menu, or choose a la carte.
