Buffalo Wild Wings’ new hand-breaded chicken platform includes three new menu items, all beer-battered with Lagunitas IPA: Chicken Tenders, the Southern Chicken Sandwich and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich.

Led by Executive Chef Jamie Carawan, the culinary team at Buffalo Wild Wings created eight beer-battered variations, ranging from lagers to wheat beers to India Pale Ales. Ultimately, they held a blind taste test and landed on the Lagunitas IPA beer batter thanks to its balanced flavor.

“India Pale Ale beers have a lot of flavor and that really came through in the breading,” Carawan says.

The higher alcohol volume in the IPA creates a unique coating and a hand-breaded chicken product that’s crispy on the outside, while remaining flavorful and juicy on the inside.

The Southern Chicken Sandwich features a beer-battered chicken breast with Swiss cheese, bacon aioli, Napa slaw and pickles, topped with a challah bun.

The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich includes a beer-battered chicken breast smothered in Nashville hot sauce and covered with Napa slaw, Fresno Chile peppers, ranch dressing and pickles all on a challah bun. The Nashville Hot sauce is also available as a sauce option for wings.

The crispy, Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders are served with a choice of sauce.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that these new tenders and sandwiches will enhance what we do best—bringing sports fans together to enjoy flavorful food, cold beer and legendary moments at Buffalo Wild Wings,” Carawan adds.
