Parlor on 7th, a new restaurant concept based in Covington, Kentucky, announced plans to open its doors Tuesday, August 13. Bringing Southern comfort food to downtown Covington, the restaurant invites guests to a leisurely dining experience marked by Kentucky’s rich history with a modern feel. The restaurant will sit at 43 W 7th St. in Covington, neighboring Braxton Brewing Co., where guests are invited to imbibe in the growing street scene in downtown Covington, while enjoying Parlor on 7th’s hearty menu.
Pike Street was once the heart of all things commercial and transportation. Parlor on 7th is named after the Lexington Turnpike that connected the bustling markets in Cincinnati and Covington to the farmers down south in the Bluegrass state. This historic route that was traveled was once paved by the Buffalo, which guests will notice drives the restaurant’s brand concept. Parlor on 7th serves as a resting point for the fine folks passing by. The grit, traveling and labor put into the creation of the turnpike is reflected throughout the restaurant.
“Parlor on 7th is an exciting endeavor we’re looking forward to sharing with Covington,” says Josh Rhodes, General Manager of Parlor on 7th. “We want the dining experience at the restaurant to be unlike any other – from the food to the atmosphere. We’ve put a lot of heart – and a lot of thought – into the concept, so guests local to Covington feel like they’re celebrating the community, and guests from outside the city feel like they’re home.”
Parlor on Seventh’s concept walks an intriguing line between historic and modern, which makes the restaurant a natural fit for Covington, overall. Guests can expect an inviting atmosphere that invites them to stay awhile, accompanied by a menu that ranges from heavy appetizers and salads, to flatbreads and Southern comfort entrées.
