City Winery Washington D.C., a charming multi-purpose venue overlooking the vibrant Ivy City neighborhood, has introduced weekend brunch to their repertoire. Created by Executive Chef Brandon Ingenito, the Saturday and Sunday midday menu captures sweet and savory Mediterranean flavors to complement the winery’s award-wining bottled and draft wines.

Guests will enjoy brunch on the urban winery’s rooftop overlooking the capital skyline. DJ MISS H.E.R will set the tone for brunch every Saturday. Sunday afternoons also feature entertainment by DJ Jealousy who listeners of WPGC 95.5 FM will recognize from spinning middays.

Chef Ingenito’s menu, true to the definition of brunch, has a little something for everyone. Traditional entrée options include Wine Maker’s Breakfast comprised of two eggs, home fries, chicken sausage, and toast, pork belly hash, or brioche French toast. A crowd favorite, the steak and egg sandwich is stuffed with sliced ribeye, arugula, and dripping with dijonnaise parmesan dressing and a poached egg. Those interested in lunch options may prefer the Beyond Burger, a vegetarian burger served with lettuce, tomato and onion on a housemaid brioche “everything” seeded bun; or the creamy kale Caesar spiced with za’atar, tossed with croutons, shaved parmesan and marinated cherry tomatoes.

Paired with these favorite weekend dishes are some of D.C.’s finest drinks from City Winery DC’s Beverage Director, Samantha Miller. Starting at $42, diners can create personalized mimosas for a party of four or more, complete with an array of juices, fruits, and wines to choose from. Cocktails include the breakfast martini with Bluecoat Gin, Aperol, lemon juice, and Bonne Mama Orange Maman, as well as the blood orange crush made with Tito’s Vodka, fresh blood orange juice, triple sec, and citrus soda, or a passoã passion fruit frosé.

A meal at City Winery would be incomplete without its house made wine and Winemaker Adam Drici has eight options available on tap. For the wines crushed in house, glasses can be purchased for as little as $12. With grapes from Monticello, Virginia, the 2018 Crummel Seyval Blanc bursts with indicative flavors and remains well-rounded. The 2018 Rosé of Syrah is also available as well as a wide selection of red wines. The inaugural vintage of Drici’s wines are being released as they are ready, so guests can expect additional white and red selections later this year as the barrel-aging process concludes.

Brunch service is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
