To eat or run? That is the question, as Friendly’s debuts a medal-worthy, 26.2-ounce sundae in celebration of the Patriots’ Day holiday and Boston marathon tradition on April 15, 2019.
Available for one day only, the over-the-top sundae will test the stamina of even the most determined sundae enthusiasts, as indulgers make their way up a mountain of 6 scoops of vanilla and strawberry ice cream topped with brilliant blue icing, marshmallows, strawberries, cubes of scrumptiously moist pound cake, whipped cream and, of course, a cherry on top.
“Patriots’ Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the wonderful traditions that bring us together as a community and cheer on our collective strength and spirit,” says Dennis Pfaff, FIC Restaurants Inc., Chief Operating Officer. “This special sundae is a lighthearted – if not lightweight – nod to the sweet satisfaction of taking on life’s challenges and pulling for each other to reach the finish.”
The Patriots Sundae will be available at select Friendly’s locations in Massachusetts for $9.99. Friendly’s also invites Boston Marathon runners to enjoy a free medium sundae by showing their official marathon race bibs at participating locations Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19.
