In the wake of Hurricane Florence, Chef Scott Crawford of Crawford and Son has partnered with The Sunday Supper on relief events to benefit the small businesses so vital to North Carolina’s hospitality industry and thriving economy. The “Come Together for the Coast” events on October 7 and November 11 present two distinct ways for our community to rebuild together. Celebrated chefs and restaurateurs—including Ashley Christensen, Vivian Howard, Vansana Nolintha, Jake Wood and many more—will headline the October 7 dinner at The Dillon.

“From farmers and fishermen to restaurateurs, we have one of the richest food communities in the country. These small, family-owned businesses who feed us every day have been devastated. Now it’s our turn to take care of them,” explained Crawford, who is organizing the dinner on Sunday, October 7, and the lunch on Sunday, November 11 on Fayetteville Street.

The Sunday Supper – the Raleigh-based non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing people together at the supper table – was born out of a community-building event in 2016 following Hurricane Matthew. An impressive $189,000 was raised in just three short weeks for devastation that cost North Carolina approximately $1.5 billion. Given the projected $17 billion in damages caused by Hurricane Florence, The Sunday Supper, along with Scott Crawford and chefs, are on a mission to make an even greater financial contribution this year.

“We believe in the power of bringing our community together around the supper table to care for one another. We invite you to join us at these events to support those who have dedicated their livelihoods to nourishing our community,” explained Willa Kane, board chair for The Sunday Supper. These two events – an elegant dinner and a casual lunch – were designed to give the entire community an opportunity to gather around the supper table to make a difference together.

On Sunday, October 7, guests will experience signature dishes from the Triangle’s most prominent chefs, enjoy music from BJ Barham of American Aquarium, and have the opportunity to participate in both silent and live auctions – all benefiting Hurricane Florence victims. Tickets for this star-studded evening at The Dillon will be on sale Friday, September 28 at www.TheSundaySupper.com.
