Today, many people want to add more plant-based foods to their diets and look for dairy-free alternatives. In fact, one in three soft serve dessert consumers would purchase almondmilk soft serve if it were available. To help foodservice operators capitalize on the rising demand, Danone North America – the world’s largest Certified B Corporation – announced Tuesday the launch of Silk Almondmilk Vanilla Soft Serve as the newest addition to its YoCream line of frozen yogurt.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to ‘All kinds of better,’ we want to ensure our soft serve customers are able to provide a delicious, indulgent treat no matter what their patrons’ dairy preferences may be,” says Nico de Valencia, Senior National Director of YoCream Frozen Yogurt. “We’re excited to bring Silk Almondmilk Vanilla Soft Serve to market, as it’s truly delightful on its own or swirled with other tasty dairy-free and plant-based options.”

Currently, almondmilk leads the plant-based beverage category with 73 percent of plant-based retail beverage sales. The new Silk Almondmilk Vanilla Soft Serve represents a significant opportunity for foodservice operators to grow their business with a brand that’s highly recognizable by today’s consumers. In fact, Silk received 94 percent brand awareness according to a 2017 Millward Brown Equity Tracker study.

The new Silk Almondmilk Vanilla Soft Serve is Non-GMO Project Verified, Vegan, Kosher, Gluten-Free and contains no cholesterol, or artificial colors or flavors.

On its own or swirled with other dairy-free choices, Silk Almondmilk Vanilla Soft Serve provides operators with endless possibilities. Add a little fudge sorbet and top it with almonds, non-dairy chocolate chips and fresh strawberries for a decadent treat for chocolate lovers. Or mix it with berry sorbet and sprinkle with granola, shredded coconut and fresh blueberries for a tropical treat.
