With a modern, seasonal take on the classic steakhouse and a timeless dining experience with a twist and cutting-edge beverage program, Monarch Beach Resort debuts BOURBON STEAK ORANGE COUNTY, the property’s new Michael Mina restaurant and bar. After closing the successful Stonehill Tavern last December in order to create Bourbon Steak, Monarch Beach Resort has set out to further enhance the resort’s dining scene with a stunning new look and modernized culinary concept.

The March 2018 opening of the first BOURBON STEAK in Orange County will be led by the restaurant’s new Executive Chef Bryan Brown, Sommelier Michelle Morin and General Manager Amber Ault. The menu highlights Chef Michael Mina’s signature butter-poached and dry-aged prime steaks along with creative-yet-refined dishes showcasing locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. Executive Chef Bryan Brown helms the kitchen, with signature dishes unique to its coastal Southern California location including Smokin’ Hot Shellfish Platter, Beet Tartare and The OC Lobster Salad.

The spirits program pays homage to classic cocktails, inspires with modern interpretations of heritage blends, and offers guests a throwback hospitality touch that will bridge the gap between vintage and modern: BOURBON STEAK’s first martini cart which serves an elevated experience tableside. The wine program features a robust library of wines from both the old and the new world, that pair perfectly with signature dishes.

“After much anticipation, we are happy to officially open BOURBON STEAK ORANGE COUNTY,” says Ian Pullan, Vice President and General Manager of Monarch Beach Resort. “Chef Mina’s talented culinary team, along with Chef Brown, has been working closely together to create a lively dining destination for Orange County residents, members and resort guests alike.”

“I’m extremely excited about the opening of Bourbon Steak Orange County at Monarch Beach Resort,” says Michael Mina, MINA Group Chef/Owner. “As a restaurateur, it’s a dream to be part of such an amazing community and we’ve been privileged to be in South Orange County for 18 years. I look forward to welcoming our neighbors into the next evolution of this space.”

Designed by Bishop Pass, the new restaurant is a blend of steakhouse confidence and coastal sophistication where deals are made in leather booths, friends gather at the solid walnut bar surrounded by linen and metallic cork walls, with panoramic Ocean views enjoyed from the dining room and terrace.

Comprising six restaurants, most of them ocean view, Monarch Beach Resort offers a collection of dining locations that team seasonally inspired ingredients, reputable service and a coastal ambience unrivaled by any resort in the area.
