8 Ways to Celebrate National Margarita Day

When more than three-quarters of Americans love margaritas, a nod to National Margarita Day on the menu on Feb. 22 can’t hurt. In fact, it’s likely to bring in business, if not at least create brand recognition and give social media engagement a boost. From weird collabs to exciting variations and special deals, here are eight ways full-service restaurants are honoring the cocktail.

Pina Pimienta

Condado is giving its customers in Columbus, Ohio and Pittsburgh a taste of summer in the middle of winter with $1 off every flavor of margarita. This includes February’s special, the Pina Pimienta Margarita made with tequila, roasted red pepper puree, and pineapple juice.

Marg Mani?

Bahama Breeze Island Grille—which operates 39 restaurants in 15 states—has decided to team up with nail polish brand SOPHi to offer a collection of margarita-inspired nail polishes, including a lime color On the Rocks inspired by the restaurant’s classic version of the cocktail. Guests will find classic margaritas for $2.22 each and might be gifted a bottle of On the Rocks with their purchase, as each restaurant will give it away 100 bottles of the polish that day.

Ant-tastic

The Black Ant in New York City honors traditional Mexican ingredients in the Smoky Jalapeno Margarita, which uses Tradicional Silver infused tequila, Cointreau triple sec, lime, orange, and agave—garnished, of course, with the restaurant’s namesake ingredient, black ants, mixed with salt.

#ChuysRitaDay

Along with utilizing a hashtag to engage with customers, Chuy’s is offering $1 off frozen blood orange or blackberry margaritas plus other all-day drink specials at its 91 locations over 19 states.

Party On

On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina’s 158 restaurants have been celebrating the margarita for nearly two weeks now. From February 9 until National Margarita Day, the restaurant has been offering its classic margarita for $2

Flight of Fancy

Tuco and Blondie in Chicago is bringing in National Margarita Day with a special margarita flight, including its Mezcal Margarita, Black Cherry Margarita, and its Classic Margarita. On Thursday, these three four-ounce pours will only set you back $10.

Mexican Mixing

Celebrating National Margarita Day in the margarita’s country of origin, Hilton Los Cabos in Cabo, Mexico is shaking up a Pomegranate Margarita to fight against the Los Cabos heat. Other margarita variations on promotion include a Green Devil margarita which mixes jalapeno, basil, lime, and rosemary syrup and a beachside Mescalita cocktail served in a fresh watermelon.

Winterized

Bidwell restaurant in Washington, D.C. has introduced this warm-weather beverage to winter in Washington with Cassandra Womack’s Margarita De Cinnamon utilizing cinnamon infused tequila, fresh grapefruit, and lime agave.
