Scotty’s Brewhouse, the Indiana based craft beer sports bar, is launching a new campaign February 1st it hopes will help No Kid Hungry provide over 600,000 meals this year to children facing hunger throughout the United States.

“We have been a part of the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry campaign each September for the past few years,” says Chris Martin, Brand President of Scotty’s Brewhouse. “Child hunger is such an important cause we wanted to do more than just make a onetime donation each year. When you realize just one dollar can provide up to 10 meals for a hungry child, you want to impact as many kids a possible.”

Scotty’s decided to focus this promotion around their Burger of the Month featured menu item. Each month the restaurant introduces a new, unique burger that is only available for one month that year. Starting February 1st, every time a guest orders one of these burgers, Scotty’s Brewhouse will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry.

“We wanted to encourage our guests to help this wonderful cause, but not have them needing to order the same menu item every visit to do so,” said Bruce McClain, Director of Marketing. “With this campaign, every month throughout the year, guests can experience a new, unique burger creation and help feed hungry children all over the United States.”

On average Scotty’s sells between 3,000 and 5,000 Burgers of the Month each month at their 15 locations in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Florida. The company recently announced plans to open a new location in Waco, Texas and multiple locations in Missouri, starting with the city of Poplar Bluff.

“As we continue to open new locations throughout the country, our Burger of the Month sales will naturally increase which will allow us to donate even more meals to kids in need,” continues Martin. “When I think about 1 in 6 kids will face hunger this year, I hope every single guest will order one of our Burgers of the Month so we can continue to help more kids.”

Guests who order one of these Burgers of the Month will be treated to something very unique each month. One past version included a pork burger topped with cinnamon apples, brown sugar candied bacon, maple cream sauce, served between two Belgian waffles. Another guest favorite was a ground chuck burger topped with slow roasted beef, onions, mushrooms, provolone cheese, horseradish sauce, served on a toasted onion roll.

“We are excited to team up with Scotty’s Brewhouse in the effort to end child hunger,” says Diana Hovey, Senior Vice President at No Kid Hungry. “The No Kid Hungry campaign has connected kids with over 775 million meals and with the help of Scotty’s Brewhouse, we can make no kid hungry a reality in the US.”

Scotty’s Brewhouse will kick off this promotion February 1st when it launches the Slamma’ Jamma’ Buttermilk Biscuit Burger. This new Burger of the Month features a fresh baked, jumbo buttermilk biscuit stuffed with a pepper-crusted bacon-sausage burger, topped with melted cheddar cheese, a fried egg and strawberry jalapeno jam.
