Executive Chef Marc Hennessy is adding breakfast to the already stellar dinning program at RARE Steak and Seafood. Located just steps from the White House, the Tavern at RARE is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty breakfast and coffee during the work week.

Guests can choose from classics such as bagels & cured salmon with maple cream cheese, house-made granola and yogurt, eggs in purgatory broiled in red chile piperade, or crab cake and eggs with crispy hash browns and avocado remoulade. Diners looking for something a little more adventurous will love the lemon soufflé pancakes, the beef chorizo & cheese enchilada served with fried eggs and ranchero sauce, or the beef confit & stewed with eggs served with grilled tomato, hash browns, and Firefly chevre.

The breakfast menu also includes a few items from RARE’s Pastry Chef Jacqueline Suter. Those looking for something sweet for breakfast will enjoy her coffee cake with crème fraiche, bird seed bread & jam, and warm blueberry muffins with butter.

Of course, you can’t go wrong with steak and eggs for breakfast. RARE will now offer its exceptional cuts of steak in the mornings. Steak offerings include Beef Tenderloin Medallions, 8 oz. Prime Bottleneck Steaks, 6 oz. Petite Filets, 14 oz. Dry Age Strips, 18 oz.  Dry Age Delmonicos and, for those looking to live large in the New Year, the 26 oz. T-Bone. All steak entrees will be served with hash browns, toast and molly sauce.

The Tavern at RARE will serve breakfast Monday through Friday from 7am to 10am. The restaurant is located at 1595 Eye Street NW, Washington, DC 20005.
