Temazcal Tequila Cantina, a vibrant Mexican eatery and tequila bar, will open its fourth Massachusetts location at 660 Legacy Place in Dedham on December 18 for dinner service beginning at 4 pm. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant, adjacent to the Showcase Cinema de Lux, will be Temazcal’s first location south of Boston, with existing outposts in Boston, Lynnfield and Burlington.

The two-story restaurant can accommodate more than 200 guests inside, with a variety of seating and a four-sided walnut bar located at the front of the restaurant; the mezzanine-level dining room overlooking the bar can be closed off for private events and seats up to 46 for lunch or dinner. An outdoor seasonal patio is the ideal spot to enjoy cocktails and small bites in the warm weather, it boasts seating for up to two dozen and features modern lounge furniture and a stylish gas fire pit.

Designed by Sousa Design Architects, Temazcal embodies the perfect balance of antique charm and modern design, incorporating materials such as reclaimed wood, wrought iron, brass, imported tiles and zebrawood, a species native to Central America, for the inlaid tabletops. A large flame-embellished window at the rear of the restaurant allows diners in the abutting semi-circular booths to peer into the bustling kitchen.

Executive Chef Donley Liburd, a St. Thomas native who previously worked at Bouchée, Cask ‘n Flagon, and Legal Harborside, will head up the kitchen, enabling diners south of the city to indulge in Temazcal’s made-from-scratch Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. In addition to Temazcal’s famous lobster guacamole, fajitas and seven varieties of tacos, standout dishes include the Temazcal Mixtas Grill (tenderloin, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, Cipollini onion, jalapeno, sweet mashed – $25), Swordfish Salguero (fresh grilled swordfish steak, crab meat, kale, mushroom, tomato, saffron cream sauce, Mexican rice – $26), Mole Poblano (roasted half chicken, sesame, Mexican chocolate, sweet mashed – $18) and the Scallops al Pastor (sautéed sea scallop, grilled pineapple, kale, crispy plantain, spicy citrus butter – $25).

On the libations side, Temazcal Dedham will feature two new signature margaritas exclusive to the location: the Cielo Azul Margarita (Lunazul Anejo tequila, Sombra mezcal, Cynar liquor, Blue Curacao, fresh lime juice and simple syrup) and the La Dama de la Noche Margarita (Exotico reposado tequila, Poema Cava brut, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice, grenadine and simple syrup). An impressive tequila collection encompassing more than 250 varieties is housed in the restaurant’s signature “tequila library” and serves as the foundation of Temazcal’s beverage program, which also includes handcrafted signature margaritas, cocktails, wine and beer. Guests at Temazcal are encouraged to peruse the diverse tequila library for a selection that suits their specific taste and price range, with bottles ranging from Cazadores Blanco all the way up to the Jose Cuervo 250 Aniversario.

Temazcal Tequila Cantina in Dedham is located at 660 Legacy Place, Dedham, MA 02026 and will serve dinner only beginning at 4:00pm from Monday, December 18th through Friday, December 22nd. Temazcal will then be open from 11:00am – 1:00am daily serving lunch and dinner.
