BABA, a newly opened sister restaurant to Ambar Clarendon, announced the introduction of Unlimited FUNBrunching service at the newly opened Clarendon location at 2901 Wilson Blvd, 22201. Unlimited FUNBrunching will debut Saturday, November 11th and will be available Saturday and Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. To help kickoff this new offering, BABA will offer their Unlimited FUNBrunching menu at a special, wallet-friendly price of $19.99 per person (tax and gratuity not included) through the end of November. Then, beginning Saturday, December 2nd, brunch will be priced at $29 per person (tax and gratuity not included).

BABA, which translates to “grandmother,” is the ideal gathering place for ‘fun dining’, innovative cocktails, and artfully presented Balkan small plates that takes inspiration from European tapas.  Dishes are sourced from local, organic farms whenever possible.  Each visit to BABA evokes the warm, welcoming comfort of grandma’s house married with a chic, modern, and comfortable ambiance. Guests are encouraged to begin their brunch experience by selecting from an array of freshly baked pastries, flavorful oatmeal, soups, salads, spreads and sandwiches, which will be served buffet-style in the center of the restaurant. Additional menu items will be made-to-order and served directly from the kitchen.  BABA’s new FUNbrunching menu also includes unlimited coffee, tea, iced tea, and orange juice.

One can begin their meal with a selection of house-made Breads such as Handmade Burek with ground beef or mushrooms, filo, leeks, onion, salt, and pepper; Croissants (choice of cheese, jam, or chocolate), and Proja, Serbian cornbread. BABA also serves Oatmeal with a choice of toppings including peanut butter, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry syrup, pineapple, chocolate chips, granola, or raisins. Also available on the buffet are a selection of Soups & Spreads such as Squash Soup with squash, carrots, and onions; Ajvar Spread with red roasted pepper, garlic, and eggplant; Olivier Spread with scallops, calamari, shrimp, sweet corn, asparagus, peas, Sriracha and tarragon mayo, served on compressed rye bread, as well as Chicken Spread with chicken, mayo, garlic, onion, lemon juice, and sesame seeds. 

A number of Salads and Sandwiches are also available and include Spinach Salad with mandarins, dry raspberries, and dressings (served on the side); BABA’s Beet Salad with marinated beets, goat cheese, walnuts, and quinoa; Arugula Avocado Salad with arugula and avocado; Chicken Sandwich, rotisserie chicken with cherry jam and iceberg lettuce; Lamb Sandwich with rotisserie lamb, pickled cucumber, cherry jam, and cheddar; Roasted Pumpkin Sandwich, open-face sandwich with white bean parsnip purée and fig dressing, served on compressed rye bread, and the Veggie Delight with kajmak spread, roasted peppers and kale, served on compressed rye bread with pine nuts.

BABA’s unlimited brunch menu also offers made-to-order dishes served directly from the kitchen. Highlights include Balkan Eggs with sautéed vegetables; Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich, served open-faced; Veggie Omelet with red and yellow peppers, onion, tomato, spinach, and creamy ajvar sauce; Salmon Benedict, served on an English muffin with crème fraîche, and kajmak sauce; BABA’s Slider with organic house-ground veal and beef, smoked gouda, salsa, and red cabbage coleslaw; Smoked Salmon Crêpes with smoked salmon, herb kajmak, capers, and grated hard boiled egg, as well as Ham and Cheese Crêpes with ham and cherry mozzarella cheese.  A variety of Pastries will also be available and include Sweet Crêpes, made with wheat flour and served with jam, Nutella, or honey & walnuts; Baklava with filo and walnuts, as well as French Toast with a dark chocolate parsnip mousse.

BABA is located at 2901 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, Virginia, 22201, just two blocks from the Clarendon Metro station accessible on the Orange and Silver Lines.  The restaurant will be open for coffee, breakfast, and lunch Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Happy Hour will be served Monday through Friday, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Dinner service is available Sunday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. A DJ spins Friday and Saturday, from 10 p.m. until Close creating a party-like atmosphere.
