Pitchoun! Bakery announced its Chocolatier and Pastry Sous Chef, Kevin Clemenceau took first place at the 2017 AUI Pastry Cup Competition, held by Albert Ulster Imports (AUI) Fine Foods.

The AUI Pastry Cup judges selected twelve competitors from across the country to showcase their creativity and expertise in a two-day, elimination style competition. The contest included three rounds: a pre-dessert, plated dessert and final presentation of 48 molded chocolate bonbons and two entremets.

Clemenceau received praise from the judges in the first two rounds, and was one of three contestants invited to participate in the final round of the competition. For Clemenceau’s final presentation, he created Granny Smith fusion entrements with notes of ginger and lemongrass, a double raspberry bon bon and a tropical bon bon, filled with mango. This award marks the first win at the AUI Pastry Cup for the Pitchoun! Bakery chocolatier and pastry sous chef.

Speaking of the recent achievement, owners Frederic & Fabienne Soulies say, “We’re honored to have Kevin Clemenceau as a part of our team at Pitchoun! and we’re thrilled to see his immense talent recognized at a prestigious national competition.”
