Texas-based Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, Inc. donated $805,000 to the Houston Food Bank to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. From August 31 through September 4, 20 percent of sales at all 53 Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, Del Frisco’s Grille and Sullivan’s Steakhouse restaurants nationwide was collected and donated in support of the Houston community.

“We are heartened by the amount of guests who came together to support the city of Houston,” says Norman J. Abdallah, CEO of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. “As a Texas-based company, this tragedy hits very close to home for us and our team was eager to take part in raising money to provide food and other essentials to assist those in need.“

To further support the city and those affected by the devastating hurricane and flooding, Abdallah traveled to Houston to present the donation and volunteer at the Houston Food Bank alongside Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group team members. He will also spend time with Houston Restaurant Weeks’ Founder Cleverly Stone as the annual Houston Restaurant Week campaign extends through September 30 in an effort to raise additional funds for the Houston Food Bank.

Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group is also aiding their own staff through the DFRG FEED Employee Support Fund, in which DFRG employees can make donations to support fellow employees affected by Hurricane Harvey. All employee donations were matched 100 percent by Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group from August 31 through September 5.
