Harkening back to the days of oyster pirates in the Chesapeake and Potomac, The Salt Line’s “Oyster Wars” will be a showcase of the finest seafood and brews from New England to the Mid-Atlantic. The Capitol Riverfront oyster and ale house will open its doors to the Northeast’s best oyster farms, breweries, and chefs to come together in celebration of first-rate seafood and beer in the Mid-Atlantic.

The $45 ticket will give guests access to an all-you-can-eat sampling from the participating chefs as well as passed hors d’oeuvres from The Salt Line, live music, and scenic views of the Anacostia River. Guests will also taste beers from a curated selection of Mid-Atlantic breweries including Brooklyn’s Other Half Brewing Co., Baltimore’s Stillwater Artisinal, Boston’s Trillium Brewing Co., and The Veil Brewing Co. of Richmond.

Participating chefs include Chef Kyle Bailey of The Salt Line, Chef Mike Friedman of All Purpose and Red Hen, Chef Spike Gjerde of Woodberry Kitchen, Chef Jeremy Sewall of Row 34 and Island Creek Oyster Bar, Chef Matt Rudofker of Momofuku, and Chef Victor Albisu of Del Campo and Taco Bamba. The oysters for the event will be sourced from two New England farms, Glidden Point Oyster Farms and Otter Cove Oyster Farm, and three Mid-Atlantic farms, Harris Creek Oyster Co., Tangier Island Oyster Co., and War Shore Oyster Co. Dessert will be provided by Tiffany MacIsaac of Buttercream Bakeshop

The event will feature live music from the reggae band See-I and DJ sets from DJ Stylus Chris with friends Harry Hotter and Smudge. Beginning at 7pm, The Salt Line will offer their limited bar menu for guests that are looking for extra bites to keep the evening going.

A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Anacostia Riverkeeper, an advocacy group aimed towards protecting and restoring the Anacostia River for all, and the Oyster Recovery Partnership, striving to create a self-sustaining oyster population through ecological restoration that expands economic opportunities in the Chesapeake and Costal Bays.
