Executive Chef Nick Dostal and the culinary team at Sixteen, the Michelin two-star restaurant located inside Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, are pleased to introduce a new and memorable al fresco dining experience with the addition of its private rooftop Garden Table inspired by its garden ingredients.

Situated on the idyllic, 16th floor terrace connected to Sixteen, the urban outdoor Garden Table sits adjacent to the expansive, freshly planted organic herb and vegetable garden cultivated by Chef Dostal. Tucked away from the property’s lively Terrace, the intimate new table, available for private parties, provides guests with an elevated, Sixteen-inspired dining experience, all while enjoying the natural beauty of the blooming garden nearby and taking in expansive views of Chicago’s famed skyline.

“Over the years, I am aware that our guests have been very interested in having the Sixteen dining experience out on the terrace,” says Sixteen’s restaurant manager Adam Stark. “Given Chef Dostal’s passion for growing and his love of the outdoors, we thought this season was the perfect time to launch this new offering. Everyone wants to be soaked in the Chicago summer. Why not marry the opportunity to do just that with a fine dining experience?”

Chef Dostal’s impressive rooftop garden features edible flowers, organic herbs such as mint, lavender, lovage, mustards, and more, as well as fresh vegetables ranging from tomatoes to radishes. His rooftop garden is the first local endeavor into onsite horticulture by a Michelin starred restaurant, elevating the experience and bringing the food closer to the guests, both physically and emotionally.

“I’ve always felt a strong calling to the garden,” says Chef Dostal. “It’s something very connected to my childhood and a universal experience among so many people. Bringing that garden to Sixteen allows us to bring a more personal and satisfying experience to our guests. It also allows us to truly forge a connection between our ingredients and how they are presented on the plate.”

The inaugural outdoor Garden Table menu, available for private parties from 8 to 20 people, emulates Chef Dostal’s philosophy of allowing dishes to honor ingredients through flavor authenticity and presentation, while embracing the natural elements of outdoor dining. Menu items include:

A three-course dinner begins at $140 per guest and a four-course dinner begins at $160 per guest. Elegant hors d’ oeuvres may also be added for pre-meal receptions. Guests may also have the option to customize their experience to a “family style” dinner if desired.

To complement Chef Dostal’s al fresco menu, wine pairings are available from Sixteen’s extensive wine list of over 1,300 labels, carefully chosen by Sommelier Parag Lalit. Pairings are available for $85 per guest for three courses or $110 per guest for five courses, and include thoughtfully arranged selections of wines that achieve harmony with the menu. In addition, guests can imbibe Seasonal batch-cocktails and refreshing juice options.

The garden table at Sixteen is available for dinner service upon reservation.
