Sacramento is about to get its first taste of Bennigan’s, the iconic brand beloved across the globe for its friendly Irish hospitality and chef-driven American fare.

The new restaurant will open to the public on June 5, at 11 a.m. The newest Bennigan’s is located at 1000 K St. in downtown Sacramento, in the space formerly occupied by K Bar and Café Bernardos at the corner of 10th and K Street. The restaurant is expected to attract steady business from the nearby State Capitol, Convention Center, Performing Arts Center, K Street Mall and the new Golden 1 Center, in addition to the adjacent hotels and neighborhoods.

“My partners and I wanted to bring Bennigan’s to Sacramento because the brand sets the standard for casual dining across the globe,” says Maninder Trewn, who owns the local franchise with partners Khem Babbar and Ravinder Trewn. “We think our focus on chef-driven food, innovative cocktails and exceptional service will be a welcome addition to downtown—the hub of the city—and become an instantly popular destination for downtown office workers, event attendees, shoppers and local residents alike.”

The 7,500-square-foot restaurant offers 18 beers on tap, including 10 local brews; Moscow Mules on tap; multiple HD TVs; two heated outdoor patios (on 10th St. and K St.); and private dining/event space for up to 60 guests in The Capitol Room.

The menu features such signature Bennigan’s favorites as the World Famous Monte Cristo, Oh, Baby™ Back Ribs, Turkey O’Toole, Big Irish double-decker hamburger and a wide assortment of handcrafted specialty drinks. In addition, new sensations including three varieties handcrafted, half-pound Prime Burgers and Lina’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich have recently been added to the culinary lineup.

The restaurant has brought nearly 100 good new jobs to the local economy.

“I’m so proud of Maninder, Khem and Ravinder for the extraordinary work they’ve done in building out their beautiful new Bennigan’s and hiring a great team to serve their guests,” says Legendary Restaurant Brands CEO & Chairman Paul Mangiamele. “Sacramento has been voted one of the Best Cities in the U.S. and our future guests deserve the very best in casual dining.”

Sacramento’s first Bennigan’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Happy Hour will be offered daily from 5 to 7 p.m.
