J. Alexander’s Holdings Inc. , owner and operator of its award-winning J. Alexander’s casual dining collection, today announced plans to bring an upscale restaurant to the historic King of Prussia community in the upper Merion township, approximately 15 miles from Philadelphia.

J. Alexander’s restaurant will be located at 265 Mall Boulevard across the street from the King of Prussia Mall. Plans for the new restaurant call for approximately 9,800 square feet with seating for more than 220 guests. Approximately 100 full and part time professionals will be employed to operate the restaurant.

“We’re extremely pleased to unveil plans for our newest J. Alexander’s restaurant with a distinctive architectural design for the King of Prussia community,” says Lonnie J. Stout II, president and CEO of J. Alexander’s Holdings, Inc. “This announcement culminates months of comprehensive research by J. Alexander’s Holdings to identify a premier site in King of Prussia for our J. Alexander’s concept. We currently expect to begin construction in the third quarter of this year with an opening scheduled for 2018.”

Known for its wood-fired cuisine, the J. Alexander’s menu will feature a wide selection of American classics—hand-cut steaks, prime rib of beef, and fresh seafood, along with a large assortment of interesting salads, sandwiches, and homemade desserts. The J. Alexander’s restaurant will also feature sushi and have a full-service bar with unique cocktails and an outstanding selection of award-winning wines by the glass and bottle.

“Like every J. Alexander’s, our King of Prussia restaurant will have a culinary team capable of executing a made-from-scratch, award-winning menu,” Stout says. “Guests in our restaurant will receive high execution levels of professional service in an environment characterized by upscale ambiance. In creating this ambiance, we will use European stemware for all of our wine service, high-quality plate ware, roomy seating packages, furniture grade tabletops, and a high level of detail finishes in all areas of the restaurant.”

The J. Alexander’s restaurant in King of Prussia is being designed by Shea Architects Inc., Minneapolis, MN. The firm was founded by David Shea in 1978 with an eye for complete integration between architecture and interior design. Clients include companies in the restaurant, hospitality and retail industries.
