Coco Pazzo has received the Best Italian Wine List 2017 in Chicago award from Gambero Rosso, the International authority on Italian wine and restaurants. Tamra Weiss was presented with the award at the Tre Bicchieri World Tour Wine Tasting kick-off in Chicago on February 7.

“This award is a testament to the dedicated efforts of my wife and partner Tamra,” said Jack Weiss, Coco Pazzo’s proprietor. “As our Wine Director, she’s the mastermind behind our wine list, which contains more than 300 selections from across Italy, and we are thrilled to be recognized for the quality and diversity of the wines on our menu. It is even more special as the recognition comes during our 25th anniversary year.”

Coco Pazzo was honored for their carefully curated all-Italian wine list, which contains selections from producers large and small across a range of price points, including highly sought-after limited production wines. It is noteworthy that the wine list features several magnum and three-liter bottles.

“I am honored to be recognized with this prestigious award,” says Tamra Weiss. “I am so proud that our restaurant was singled out by this world-renowned organization.”

Gambero Rosso selects the Best Italian Wine List winners through a panel of experts who dine at selected restaurants without identifying themselves, and restaurants cannot apply to be considered.

Coco Pazzo’s wine list is comprised solely of Italian wines, and has been honored with several awards, including the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 13 straight years.
