Gaurav “G” Patel, the president and founder of Eschelon Experiences, was recognized by the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA) as the 2017 Restaurateur of the Year. Patel will be honored alongside fellow industry leaders at the 2017 Stars of the Industry Awards and Taste of North Carolina Gala presented by Sysco Monday at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m.

“I am incredibly honored to be recognized for an award that exemplifies the core values of Eschelon Experiences,” says Patel. “I would not be successful without the support of our community and dedicated employees. I encourage fellow restaurateurs to invest in these individuals and to never lose sight of their value.”

NCRLA’s Annual Stars of the Industry Awards identify leaders who go above and beyond to set the standard for excellence in the industry. Recipients of the NCLRA Restaurateur of the Year Award are considered highly successful in the eyes of fellow operators, employees and the community. They are chosen for their charitable involvement and interest in protecting and promoting the restaurant industry.

Patel, a longstanding member of the NCRLA, is being recognized for working to instill the company’s core values in each employee, emphasizing the importance of people and giving back. Additionally, he is being honored for for his ability to build his team from within.

“I have worked with G Patel for over five years. He has a passion that is infectious and his impact in our community is vast,” adds Kyle Lynch, district manager of Eschelon Experiences. “On top of making sure that every guest receives phenomenal food with service to match, he has a commitment to give back as much as possible to the community that supports the Eschelon family.”

The NCRLA works to advance and protect the state’s hospitality industry by building influence, image, and engagement.
