Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery’s “Toast to Heroes” fundraiser raised $59,902 for Folds of Honor through the sale of paper dog tags at all Tilted Kilt locations nationwide. Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to family members and dependents of fallen or disabled service members.

“Every year our franchisees and customers are ecstatic to have the opportunity to be involved with such a meaningful foundation like Folds of Honor,” says Lynch. “Our service men, women and their families have sacrificed an incredible amount, so to have the opportunity to give back through this campaign is just a small token of our appreciation for their service.”

The fifth annual “Toast to Heroes” fundraiser has allowed Tilted Kilt to salute the sacrifices of the more than one million men and women choosing to serve in the United States Armed Forces. Guests were given an opportunity to purchase a $1.00, $5.00 or $10.00 paper dog tag to be personally customized and displayed on the pub walls.

“We are incredibly appreciative to be able to participate in such a remarkable campaign to give back to the men and women who service our country,” says Pulido. “Folds of Honor is truly making a difference across the nation by providing scholarships to children and spouses of injured or fallen soldiers—seeing the community come together to bring awareness to this campaign every year continues to amaze me.”

Of the one million-plus dependents adversely affected by deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, nearly nine out of 10 do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance. Folds of Honor seeks to meet this need by providing education scholarships to the military families of those who have fallen or been disabled while in service to out great nation.  As stories of fallen and disabled soldiers continue to make headlines, this opportunity allows for pubs and guests to give back to the men and women who continue to serve our country while dining at Tilted Kilt. Since its founding in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded more than 13,000 scholarships, including more than 2,800 in 2015 alone.
