In an effort to support the spouses and children of U.S. fallen and disabled military members, popular create-your-own stir-fry restaurant bd’s Mongolian Grill raised $24,543 through a Veterans Day fundraiser held November 1 through 13, which benefited the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that works to provide educational scholarships for spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members. During the fundraiser, bd’s sold $2 pin-up slips in exchange for $5 gift cards valid toward another visit to the restaurant. All of the campaign donations and 10 percent of bd’s sales on Veterans Day went directly to Folds of Honor.

“Bd’s is grateful to have had the opportunity to educate and connect communities across the nation while in joint support of an amazing cause,” says Joe Phraner, president and COO of bd’s Mongolian Grill. “It is a privilege to stand with Folds of Honor and help our nation’s heroes and their families.”

In 2015, Folds of Honor awarded more than 2,500 scholarships, contributing to the 10,000-plus scholarships granted since 2007.

“The support from bd’s Mongolian Grill, their decision to stand with Folds of Honor throughout 2016, drives our mission to support the families of those who have sacrificed so much defending our great nation,” says the founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation, Major Dan Rooney. “We are so thankful for their donation and commitment to our cause. We couldn’t do it without amazing patriots like them.”

In 2016, bd’s raised a total of $54,482.78 for the Folds of Honor Foundation, funded through a combined effort of its Memorial Day campaign, sale of special edition Bud Light cans, and Veterans Day campaign.
