The Rock, Wood Fired Pizza & Spirits, an award-winning gourmet pizza restaurant with a gritty rock-and-roll vibe, is excited to announce its newest restaurant, opening in Gresham, Oregon, in June 2011.

The new restaurant will be the first installment of The Rock in Oregon, with plans to open up to seven new locations in the Vancouver, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, markets in the next few years.

“The family culture in Gresham is a great fit for The Rock concept,” says Don Bellis, co-founder and president of The Rock. “Our fun, laid-back restaurant provides a place for the diverse, urban community to unwind and enjoy an excellent meal.”

“We are looking forward to rockin’ it in Oregon, bringing great pizza and great music to the community,” says Jay Gigandet, co-founder and CFO of The Rock.

The 5,200-square-foot Wood Village restaurant was designed by DMS Architects of Portland, Oregon, and will be built by Blackrock Industries of Seattle. The new franchise restaurant, located in the Wood Village area, is owned by Hot Stone LLC, which also owns The Rock location in Vancouver, Washington.

Hot Stone LLC brings more than 25 years of multi-restaurant ownership to its partnership with The Rock, including Taco Del Mar storefronts in Portland, Oregon, and Papa Murphy’s storefronts in the greater Seattle area.

 “We are very excited to be a part of the Gresham community and to bring a unique concept to the area,” says Brad Loucks, operating partner of Hot Stone LLC. “Everyone that we have met and worked with in the Wood Village area has been incredibly helpful and we are looking forward to becoming a part of the community.”

The Rock currently has 10 restaurants in Washingtonstate, one in Red Deer, AlbertaCanada, and has plans to open up to 30 new restaurants around the country in partnership with the H.
