Known for its Neopolitan pizza and Southern Italian delicacies, Krescendo in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighborhood also features a robust bar overseen by beverage director Darren Crawford, who splits his time between the Brooklyn restaurant and renowned cocktail destination Bourbon & Branch in San Francisco. Beginning Monday, July 8, Krescendo will extend its beverage program with the launch of the daily Spirit Hour, devoting each week to a different spirit category.

“Spirit Hour is an opportunity for guests to learn about their favorite spirit – or perhaps one they have been curious about and intimidated by,” says owner Nancy Puglisi.

Krescendo’s Spirit Hour will take place daily, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the bar. Guests will enjoy three tasting portions of the featured spirit, reflecting the range and variety of the category, plus a special cocktail, and a Margherita pizza.

Spirit Hour kicks off with a focus on Gin, featuring tasting portions of three distinct styles – London Dry, Plymouth, and Old Tom’s – and the Green Tea Cocktail created with green tea-infused gin, Cocchi Americano, lemon juice, Domaine de Canton, honey, and egg white. Krescendo’s Spirit Hour will continue throughout the summer:

  • Week of July 15: Rum
  • Week of July 22: Tequila
  • Week of July 29: American Whiskey
  • Week of August 5: Vodka
  • Week of August 12: Fortified Wines
  • Week of August 19: Amaro
  • Week of August 26: Italian Liqueurs
