The Asheville Wine & Food Festival is pleased to announce that EDISON, The Grove Park Inn’s restaurant, will serve as the title sponsor of this year’s Festival, held August 20—24, in downtown Asheville.

“We are thrilled to be working with The Grove Park Inn,” says Bob Bowles, Asheville Wine & Food Festival director. “EDISON’s focus on the local food culture and flavors is the perfect match for the Festival, which also celebrates Asheville’s culinary ethos.”

The new restaurant, which opens in July, is named for Thomas Edison, who used to frequent the Inn with fellow innovators Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford. EDISON puts an inventive spin on Southern comfort food that’s worthy of its namesake, serving dishes such as house made whole milk ricotta with sweet peas, chicken, and waffles with local honey and Carolina Scotch eggs. EDISON will pay equal attention to its libations with hand-crafted cocktails and local craft beer including a signature Centennial Ale in celebration of the Inn’s 100th anniversary.

"EDISON at The Grove Park Inn is proud to be the title sponsor of the 2013 Asheville Wine & Food Festival,” says Tracey Johnston-Crum, the Inn’s marketing director. “The festival has grown into an amazing annual event that showcases the culinary best of the area, and as The Grove Park Inn commemorates its Centennial, we are excited to offer our support and partnership to this dynamic community celebration."
