BevCon Charleston is a multi-day curated event in Charleston, South Carolina, from August 21—24 that brings together national and international beverage and culinary minded professionals together for meaningful and rich learning opportunities, networking events, tastings, and interactions with other professionals.

FSR Spirits Editor Alia Akkam is one of the presenters at the event. Additionally, Cappie Peete Chapman and Micah Melton, who were featured as FSR Rising Stars in this month’s issue will also be presenting. Peete Chapman is the director of beverage and education at Neighboorhood Dining Group, which operates Husk, in Charleston and Nashville, Tennessee; Minero in Charleston and Atlanta; and Chicago’s Steak and Seafood in the Atlanta suburb of Roswell. Melton is the beverage director at the The Aviary in Chicago, owned by famed restaurateur Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas.

The focus will be on all things beverages with concentration on operations, beverage making, craft-minded products, and what’s new and cutting edge in the wine, spirits and beer industries as well as trends in non-alcoholic drinks, mixers, and products. While in Charleston, attendees will get a glimpse of the city’s beverage culture, history, and programs that are some of the best in the nation.

BevCon Charleston will offer attendees a number of intimate learning sessions, tastings, and events where attendees walk away inspired and a notebook full of new ideas and contacts. The presenters are some of the best in the country. The tastings will feature hard to find bottles of products that you will be dying to taste. And Charleston promises to be the perfect playground to explore, eat, and drink your heart out.
