Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern announced two new locations opening in Southern California this year. Following the success of the brand’s recent opening at The Village at Westfield Topanga in Woodland Hills last October, JFAT’s next venture is set to open at the end of February in the new Whole Foods anchored “La Floresta” retail center in Brea. Additionally, in July, JFAT will open on Ocean Avenue near the pier in Santa Monica. JFAT’s commitment to using the highest-quality ingredients, such as Certified Angus Beef, adherence to offering only recommended “Seafood for the Future” seafood, and bottling its own Chipotle Ketchup, has made it a California favorite since first opening in 2010. Both of the new locations provide the same eclectic offerings of regional American comfort foods developed by celebrated Orange County chef/restaurateur David Wilhelm.

The restaurants, like its sister locations, create social gathering spots that serve specialty drinks, craft brews and boutique wines, along with great food in comfortable, yet sophisticated settings.Remarking on JFAT’s success since its inception in 2010, managing partner Wilhelm says, “Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to develop a variety of concepts, but JFAT has quickly proven to be the one that has resonated most with the public. Our menu offers simply prepared meals made with the highest quality ingredients, served in a warm ambience that drives incredible frequency. We have been adopted in each location as the local ‘go-to’ favorite for drinking, dining and socializing.”

Taking pride in artisanal cooking that uses high-quality ingredients and traditional methods, JFAT’s menu offers diners familiar childhood classics with an elevated twist. Customer favorites include Half-Pound, Certified Angus Beef Jimmy Burger with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Pimento Cheese, and Jalapeno Jelly to the Buttermilk Beer Battered Onion Rings with House-made Chipotle Ketchup, Warm Cheddar, Spinach, Beer & Bacon Fondue with Herbed Croustades, Honey-Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Thyme Cream Gravy, Bourbon-Chipotle BBQ Baby Back Ribs with Slaw, Cheddar-Jalapeno Potatoes, and Jalapeno Cornbread, and Bananageddon with Fresh Bananas, Vanilla Bean Pastry Cream, Pecan Blondie Crumbles, Butter Pecan Ice Cream, Salty Rum Caramel Sauce, Candied Pecans and Whipped Cream.

The bars at JFAT boast an extensive selection of hand-shaken classics and original cocktails such as the Cucumber Cooler Finlandia Vodka, St. Germain liqueur, muddled cucumber and fresh lemon juice and the El Diablo Peligroso Blano tequila, jalapeno syrup, lime, and Cointreau from itsIn Agave we Trust tequila offerings. Also offered is a carefully selected list of West Coast produced wines, available by the glass, bottle or on tap and comprehensive beer lists with local microbrews on tap and bottled beers from independent American breweries.
