Chef Chris Emerling has joined Susan Disney Lord’s Bel Air Bar + Grill In Los Angeles as chef de cuisine to launch an entirely new menu in October. Chef Emerling is a recent East Coast transplant who plans to create California cuisine as he feels it should be, food without borders, where nothing is off limits.

Chef Emerling’s cuisine is heavily influenced by his time in the Michelin-starred kitchens of Benoît Violier, Philippe Rochat, and Joël Robuchon, as well as his East Coast upbringing.

Chef Emerling’s new menu at the Los Angeles restaurant focuses on dishes that are locally sourced, globally inspired, and made in-house. Dishes on the fall menu will include:

Pork Cheeks—slow braised, lemongrass, sweet potato gnocchi, three peas, tender parsley.

Pacific Blanquette—shrimp, calamari, scallop, salmon, braised endive, fennel, mushrooms, Normandy cream sauce, rispor.

Tomato + Persimmon—late season vine-ripened tomato, early season Fuyu persimmon, parsley leaves, Modena vinegar.
