Cracker Barrel Old Country Store announced it expects to serve more than 1.4 million Turkey n’ Dressing meals during the nine-day Thanksgiving holiday period. Thanksgiving is Cracker Barrel’s busiest day of the year, and this year more than 70,000 Cracker Barrel employees will share their expertise in Thanksgiving with Americans looking to spend less time in the kitchen and more time with friends and family. To help guests enjoy a hassle-free holiday, Cracker Barrel is open all day, serving a special Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing Meal to dine-in guests at any one of its 635 locations. Also available is a Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing Family Meal To-Go that serves up to six people.
“More and more people are looking for time-saving, hassle-free ways to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal without spending a lot of time in the kitchen,” says Bill Kintzler, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store executive chef. “When families don’t have to worry about shopping for ingredients, cooking a long list of items, and then cleaning up afterward, they are able to relax and enjoy more of what makes the holiday so special—our loved ones.”
During the Thanksgiving season, Cracker Barrel estimates it will serve: 140,162 turkey breasts, which if eaten one a day would last a person for 384 years; 1.6 million pounds of dressing that together weighs nearly 4.5 times more than the Mayflower, the ship that brought the pilgrims to America in 1620; 142,600 pounds of cranberry relish; 1.2 million pieces of pie; and 1.4 million total meals.
Those choosing to join in giving thanks at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store locations can enjoy the Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing Meal complete with gravy, a sampling of sugar cured ham, sweet potato casserole with pecans, cranberry relish, a choice of a country side, a refillable beverage, made-from-scratch biscuits or corn muffins, and a slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. It is available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $11.99 for adults and $6.99 for children.
Cracker Barrel’s Homestyle Turkey n’ Dressing Family Meals To-Go serves up to six people and features a turkey n’ dressing dinner complete with gravy, a sampling of sugar cured ham, a choice of three quart-sized country sides, cranberry relish, and a choice of biscuits, corn muffins, or a loaf of sourdough bread. It is available from November 21 through November 29 for $64.99, and guests only need to call at least 24 hours ahead and Cracker Barrel will have everything hot, packed, and ready when they arrive.
Cracker Barrel is encouraging everyone to save room for dessert by offering freshly baked whole pies through December 24 for $8.99. Choices include: Pumpkin (available November 23-26 only), Pecan, Chocolate Pecan, Apple Pecan Streusel, and All-American Apple.
