Another Broken Egg Café announced the signing of a five-store development agreement for Tennessee in 2015.

With the first location slated to open at 208 Commerce Street in Nashville by July, and plans to open up to two additional locations over the next couple of years.

Leading the brand’s development is Stuart Ottinger, president of Double R Restaurant Group who also co-founded the Nashville-based fast-casual chicken concept, Otter’s Chicken.

Having started his restaurant career in Nashville, Ottinger jumped at the opportunity to expand Another Broken Egg Cafe throughout the region. As the company’s largest franchisee, with a current portfolio of 20 cafes throughout the Southeast, Double R looks forward to expanding into the Nashville market, followed by restaurant openings in Knoxville and Chattanooga.

The vibrant town of Nashville is expected to house more than two million residents by 2020 and has one of the most underserved breakfast segments in the foodservice industry.

“While the local restaurant scene continues to grow, the brunch sector is still under served in the market,” Ottinger says. “As a former resident of eight years, I look forward to reconnecting with the community as we expand throughout the region and become the big player for high-end breakfast, brunch, and lunch.”

The Tennessee development is part of Double R Restaurant Group’s overall growth strategy for the brand, which includes the opening of 36 locations throughout South Florida, as well as additional locations in the Carolinas, Georgia and Louisiana.
