Café Spiaggia, the sister restaurant of Spiaggia, reopened July 16 after a seven-week renovation.

James Beard Award winning Chef Tony Mantuano created a menu of Italian dishes, including starters like a selection of fresh crudos, warm burrata with plums and celery, and a chef favorite, “Emilia Romagna on a Plate, ”a combination of gnocco fritto, prosciutto di Parma, fonduta, and balsamico.

Pastas, a specialty of the Cafe, are encouraged to be shared, and entrees range from whole branzino to prime skirt steak topped with pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, and gorgonzola dolce.

Pastry Chef Melanie Diamond-Manlusoc's take on Italian treats include a Pizelle Panino, an ice cream sandwich made with thin Italian wafer cookies, plus gelato by the scoop including flavors ranging from Earl Grey tea to honey cashew.

Karen Herold, of Studio K, designed the renovation for the Cafe, reflecting sister restaurant Spiaggia’s modern look and feel, while providing an approachable neighborhood dining experience rooted in classic Italian customs and cuisine.

The restaurant’s expansive wine program is curated by Wine Director Rachael Lowe, and celebrates women wine makers from around the globe.
