Alpana Singh, award-winning Master Sommelier and restaurateur, announced that her third Chicago-area restaurant Terra & Vine, located at 1701 Maple Avenue in downtown Evanston, will open Thursday. Terra & Vine, led by executive chef and Alinea Group alum Andrew Graves, will feature casual, rustic Mediterranean fare with an Italian emphasis, showcasing seasonal ingredients and the bold flavors of the region.
"I'm so inspired by the dynamic dining scene in Evanston, and am excited to translate that inspiration into every aspect of Terra & Vine," Singh says. "We look forward to sharing our vision with the residents of Evanston and welcoming them into our new home."
Graves' rotating menu features a variety of sides, shareable dishes and large plates, including ciabatta spreads, house-made pastas, pizzas, and wood-fired entrees. The opening menu offers a variety of bright, bold seasonal dishes, including Wild Mushroom & Artichoke Pizzette, Spinach & Goat Cheese Agnolotti with Pomadoro, Fennel, Olive & Walnut, Romanesco Gratin with Pomodoro, Bone Marrow & Herb Butter, and Grilled Swordfish with Eggplant Caponata & Agro Dolce.Bar Terra, the adjacent 40-seat bar at Terra & Vine, offers a full selection of cocktails, beer, wine and a bar food menu designed by Graves. The bar food menu will feature items such as Cheese & Salumi, Lyonnaise Fries with Braised Pork, Dijon Gravy & a Poached egg, and Bar Terra Cheeseburger.
Designed by Singh's business partner Matt Fisher, Terra & Vine's dining room accommodates 120 with an outdoor patio that seats 60. Four distinct private dining rooms can accommodate groups from 10 to 140 or more. Large windows provide plentiful natural light; whitewashed wood, black and white patterned tile floors, and neutral walls will serve as the backdrop for the light, airy coastal Mediterranean furnishings and details that occupy the space. The focal point of Terra & Vine's 120-seat dining room is the open kitchen, which showcases a custom-made, 12-foot-long rotisserie grill. Design highlights include plush caramel-colored booths, honey oak tables, and greenery by way of hanging ceiling plants.
