Executive Chef Blake Hartwick from Charlotte, North Carolina’s Bonterra Dining and Wine Room will be participating in the first annual Springer Mountain Farms’ Wings in Atlanta on September 25 at The Foundry at Puritan Mill.

Chef Hartwick joins Springer Mountain Farms and Taste of Atlanta along with 25 fellow Southern chefs celebrating America's favorite one-handed meal, the chicken wing. The event will include some of the South's favorite spirits and craft beers.

Chef Hartwick is bringing his love of chicken wings and his Southern spin on an American favorite. As he says, “I had a blast last Super Bowl bringing my Winning Wings recipe to the Taste of the NFL and I cannot wait to bring a fantastic new spin on chicken wings to the Wings in Atlanta.”

The event is a collaboration between Springer Mountain Farms and the Taste of Atlanta. Springer Mountain Farms is supplying each chef with the best quality chicken wings to create their spin on everyone’s favorite, the chicken wing. 

Chef Hartwick finds his inspiration in his Southern roots and embraces using fresh, local ingredients in his dishes. Chef Harwick brings a modern edge to Southern classics.

His culinary background includes working in several restaurants in Charlotte since moving to the city in 1993. During his career he has worked at Bistro 100, Carpe Diem and Sonoma, where he served as their sous chef. In 2000, he joined Bonterra Dining & Wine Room as executive chef. In 2005, John Duncan opened the Ratcliffe on the Green where Chef Hartwick served as their executive chef. Chef Hartwick’s culinary career has taken him to Spain where he worked at the prestigious Casino de Madrid and NoDo. He also served as the Chef de Cuisine at the world renowned Four Star, Four Diamond Greenbrier Resort. Chef Hartwick returned to Bonterra Dining & Wine Room in 2014 as the Executive Chef.

Chef Hartwick has also had the honor and privilege of cooking at the James Beard House once in 2012, as well as, in 2016. Chef Hartwick was invited to attend the James Beard Celebrity Chef Dinner in Palisades Virginia in April 2014 and has hosted the Celebrity Chef Tour dinner at Bonterra for the last two years.

Chef Chef Hartwick also represents the Carolina Panthers at the Taste of the NFL each year and actively supports their mission of helping to fight hunger.
