Uncorked Glass Company founder and curator Daniel Hart is proud to announce the introduction of his artisan glass company, offering timeless, eco-friendly glassware handcrafted using recycled wine bottles.

Honoring his sustainably minded commitment to avoid contribution to landfills, Hart creates each piece from 100 percent post-consumer materials donated by local restaurants, wineries, and consumers throughout Georgia.

Recently lauded by Garden & Gun as a recipient of a Made in the South Award featured in the publication’s December 2011/January 2012 issue, Uncorked Glass is at the forefront of new wave green glassware design.

Delicately crafted using custom-built prototype machines designed by Hart, each of the unique wine bottle tumblers go through a polishing process that rounds the lip, leaving the finish smooth, brilliant, and beautiful. The dimple or “punt” in the bottom of the wine bottle gives each glass its unique character.

The idea behind Hart’s brainchild ignited after he picked up a wine bottle that broke during dinner in his home. The following morning, Hart immersed himself in a three-month project inventing a special process that enables the efficient manufacture of unique, high quality glassware made exclusively from recycled wine bottles.

In January 2011, Hart established Uncorked Glass Company, a progressive business honoring his environmentally conscious pursuit while offering beautiful, thoughtfully tailored keepsakes.

Perfect for hot and cold beverages and ideally suited for wine, Uncorked glasses are available in 12 ounce (4 inches tall) and 16 ounce (5 inches tall) sizes and five color options including gold, green, amber, clear, and tinted clear.

The glasses are dishwasher safe and offered in sets of four and six available for purchase at www.uncorkedglass.com. As Uncorked Glass emerges as a household name, Hart plans to offer his collection in select specialty stores throughout Georgia and the Southeast.
